“808s and Heartbreak” is Kanye West’s 4th Studio album and after hearing leaked versions of just about every song and I can safely say that this album is going to be UNREAL. I especially love that fact that West proudly labels this album under an entirely new genre he’s created which he calls “Pop Art.” After losing his mother late last year and a recent breakup with his fiance, Kanye has managed to pour his heart out in the form of heavy TR-808 beats and distorted auto-tuned vocals. The results are a solemn and truly artistic piece of work that is destined to become an instant classic! Did I mention he recorded the entire album in Hawaii?! The 808 State… coincidence?
“808s and Heartbreak” is set to release on Nov. 24th, 2008.

Today I spent the day with my brother’s gf and my nephew, watching my brother and his streetbike crew do stunts at the island races. It was my first time at one of those, even after 23 years on Kauai. It was pretty fun and my brother and his crew were badass but I think the best part of my day was the time spent with my nephew, Kaleb. He’s gonna be 2 in January… I still can’t believe my (YOUNGER) brother has a son… Kaleb is a great kid though, so smart and friendly. He’s definitely representing the Cummings bloodline. He kinda makes me want to move back home just so I can be in his life on a more consistent level. We’ll see…
The Gyro Ring Pro (we used to to call em “Jitter Rings”) is a toy that consists of 5 brass discs on a single metal hoop. You basically spin the discs and keep them in motion by continuously spinning the hoop.
I think it’s time for me to step up my blogging skills and do this on the daily. Twitter is great but I think maintaining a blog is a much better way to keep my crazy thoughts organized and express myself at the same time.
So, I’ll do my best to keep this blog current starting from right….. NOW

I spent the better half of last weekend recording w/ my good friend, Aldrine Guerrero, for a Christmas instrumental project of his. Our sessions were pretty quick and productive, mostly due to his preparation and my workflow. We tracked 5 traditional Christmas songs (Sleigh Ride, Winter Wonderland, The Christmas Song, Up on the Housetop, Carol of the Bells) as well as a new version of Aldrine’s original composition, “Schizophrenic Snowflakes.” I just finished mixing & mastering lastnight but after listening to the final product on my iPod I feel like I can do better. So, today I plan to remaster the project, hopefully for the last time and add “The Four Strings of Christmas” to my production/engineering resume.
Next up, MY ever-delayed album lol
